Steve - Out Of The Closet

Dark Entries introduces Steve, Suzanne Ciani's pitch-shifted alter ego, across three playful electronic recordings. Created using an Eventide H949 harmonizer in the late 1970s and early 1980s, Steve gave Ciani another voice through which to explore character, performance and pop.

Steve Goes To A Party pairs that voice with the robotic funk of Tangerine Dream's Peter Baumann. Steve Saves The World follows with a proto-house groove and a chorus from the Stardust All-Stars, recorded at George Louvis's New Jersey studio. Steve Happy Birthday Wishes feat. Suzanne closes the EP with a message originally made for Ciani's then-boyfriend Alfred.

The sleeve was designed by Eloise Shir-Juen Leigh, and the record includes a birthday card containing liner notes by Ciani.
