About this release
Eastern Flowers brings Sven Wunder’s instrumental world into focus through thirteen pieces named after flowers. Originally released as Doğu Çiçekleri, the album joins Anatolian rock with European jazz-funk, using weighty drum patterns, organ, synthesiser, saz and bass to shape its arrangements. Traditional and modern instruments carry melodies inspired by the eastern Mediterranean, from Black Iris and Tulip to Hibiscus and Gilboa Iris. Rather than relying on vocals, the record uses contrasting instrumental colours and steady grooves to connect its themes. This Piano Piano vinyl edition presents the complete thirteen-track album.
