About this release
You Make It Harder brings the Ray Contreras Band’s New York boogie-funk recordings together on a five-track Past Due Records EP. The title song first appeared in 1984 under the name Contreras / Sokolov / Milgrom, connected to the WBLS Budweiser Showdown competition. This edition places it alongside four archive recordings: Wishful Thinking, If You Want My Love, I Can Feel Your Heartbeat and Miami Girl. The group’s synth-heavy sound runs through a programme that expands well beyond the original single. The 12-inch comes in a full sleeve carrying the band’s story, including their competition win and national-finals experience.
Format: 12-inch vinyl EP with illustrated sleeve and band history
Label: Past Due Records
