The Three Sounds - Soul Symphony (Classic Vinyl Series)

Soul Symphony places The Three Sounds inside Monk Higgins' orchestral arrangements. On this 1969 Blue Note session, pianist Gene Harris, bassist Henry Franklin and drummer Carl Burnett are joined by brass, woodwinds and strings, extending the trio's soul-jazz sound into a larger ensemble.

The title piece fills the first side, while Repeat After Me, Upper Four Hundred, Popsicle Pimp and Black Sugar make up the reverse. This stereo Blue Note Classic Vinyl edition was mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes using an all-analogue process and pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal.
