About this release
Theodor's self-titled debut grew from Rob and Lui's shared interest in contemporary soul, first discussed on a road trip to Italy. Joined by Max and Greg, they wrote and recorded during weekend sessions through the pandemic, shaping a relaxed, psychedelic sweet soul sound. Melodic bass and acoustic drums provide the foundation for Farfisa organ, Fender Rhodes and eighties synthesizer textures, while Max and Lui bring contrasting voices to the arrangements. Shepard's Lullaby introduces that mixture of instrumental warmth and unconventional song structures. Released by Broc Recordz in 2023, the album captures the group's first shared recordings across a concise set of songs.
