About this release
Tiger Stripes opens the A Tiger Never Loses Its Stripes series with four tracks on Rekids. The Swedish producer Mikael Nordgren moves between soulful vocals, weighty bass and playful keys, setting out a varied but connected set of club grooves.
‘Slow’ starts with a snappy rhythm and warm vocal, followed by the jazz-inflected keys of ‘Twelve’. On the flip, ‘Stay Hypnotic’ brings shimmering synth sequences and fragmented percussion, while ‘Shape The Future’ closes with a squelchy bassline and dubby chords. Part one arrives as a four-track twelve-inch EP.
