About this release
The fourth chapter of Tone B. Nimble’s Soul Is My Salvation series pairs two gospel recordings selected for their dancefloor appeal. Cash Money’s Seeking takes the A-side, bringing gospel vocals into a jazz-funk and disco setting. Ricky Womack & The New Age Christian Ensemble follow on the reverse with New Day New Time, a 1990 recording distinguished by synthesiser textures and slap bass. Released by Rain&Shine, the single forms part of an eight-chapter series whose sleeves combine into a design by Charlotte McCrae. Each side gives a different view of the connection between gospel, soul and dance music.
