Various Artists / Rainer Trüby - Root Down 30

Rainer Trüby marks three decades of Freiburg’s Root Down party with a ten-track compilation for Daybreakers. Root Down 30 brings together the jazz, Brazilian rhythms, soulful house and broken beat that have shaped the night since 1996, drawing on music and remixes from Jazzanova, Jimpster, Osunlade, Da Lata and Crackazat. It is a selection built around the club’s open-minded approach to the dancefloor, with established names sitting alongside less familiar discoveries.

Flashbaxx’s Brooklyn Love Boat opens the set, followed by the Marlow & Trüby refix of Horse With No Name. Further highlights include Jazzanova’s No Use in Crackazat’s hands and Água reworked by Jimpster. The double LP comes on black vinyl in a picture sleeve with a printed insert.
