The second volume of Spiritual Jazz 19 follows the West Coast’s underground jazz into the 1970s and 1980s. Jazzman brings together ten recordings by Pharoah Sanders, Infinite Sound, Billy Higgins, PE Hewitt and others, tracing music shaped by independent labels, Black cultural movements and new spiritual ideas. The selection gives space to extended performances, with the open-ended exploration of Living Space and John Coltrane alongside less familiar recordings from the region.

Weird Sisters, Danakil Warrior and Ring Shout Ballet help widen the picture beyond the best-known names. Presented as its own double-LP set, Part 2 arrives in a gatefold sleeve with liner notes, photographs and a download code, completing the series’ two-volume study of California and its surrounding states.
