About this release
Classic’s thirtieth-anniversary series begins by connecting its early catalogue with music from the label’s renewed activity after 2011. Herbert and Chris Nazuka open the first record, followed by Jon Marsh’s Beloved remix of Blaze’s ‘Lovelee Dae’ and Freaks’ dub treatment of Gemini. The second record brings Seven Davis Jr., Red Rack’em and Eli Escobar into the story, closing with Kenny Hawkes and Louise Carver’s ‘Play The Game’ in its Space Children mix. The selection traces the label’s range through distinctive vocals, off-centre grooves and deep house arrangements. A reverse-board outer sleeve and embossed orange and pink GMUND card inners complete the anniversary package.
