About this release
The third volume of Richie Weeks’ Love Magician Archives draws from his New York recordings between 1980 and 1983, tracing the links between boogie, funk and post-disco. Presented by Jerome Derradji’s Past Due Records, it brings together material by Hot Cargo, Weeks & Co., The Jammers and Kaviar. Alternate versions, demos and an instrumental show different stages of Weeks’ writing and production, from If You Were Mine and Rockin’ It In The Pocket to Love Robots and Knock Knock. The Jammers’ Flaunt It and Dance 2000 complete the selection. An insert continues the account of Weeks’ musical history with notes by Derradji.
