About this release
Bruno ‘Patchworks’ Hovart continues Voilaaa’s blend of Afro-disco and funk on C’est tout, adding Latin and Caribbean influences across fourteen tracks. Returning vocalists Lass, Pat Kalla and Fouley Badiaga join a cast that also includes Nai-Jah, Ayuune Sule, Joao Selva and Olivya. ‘Faché’ combines Afrobeat horns, clavinet and a low-slung disco groove, while the album’s two covers take familiar songs in different directions: Joao Selva sings Ebo Taylor’s ‘Love and Death’, and Olivya brings Jamiroquai’s ‘Too Young To Die’ into Voilaaa’s rhythmic setting. Favorite Recordings presents the album as a gatefold double LP.
