About this release
Arno E. Mathieu returns to his own Musiq Voyage label with Phoenix / L'Amoragie, a four-track 12-inch rooted in the warmth and open horizons of his native Provence. “Phoenix” draws on an eighties electronic palette, bringing a supple bassline together with bright synths and guitar, while the Bizarre Instrumental Version offers another angle on the same material. On the flip, “L'Amoragie” builds a more expansive disco setting from insistent drums, broad synth lines and choral colour. The DiscoDelic Version is followed by a short reprise, keeping both the emotional sweep and rhythmic detail of Mathieu's approach in focus.
