About this release
Calm opens Hell Yeah Recordings’ The Art Of Remix series with a selection of his Mellow Mellow Acid reworks. His approach places bubbling acid lines within relaxed, spacious arrangements, drawing together Balearic, house, dub and ambient textures. Guitar and saxophone colour Aura Safari’s contribution, while Dream Baby Dream brings a more forceful breakbeat pulse. Meitei Mahi’s “Dounika Kounika” introduces a darker combination of acid and riffs; Gallo’s beatless dub and Yuichiro Kato’s saxophone-led closer pull the mood back towards reflection. The remixes were produced at Studio 9 O’Clock between 2020 and 2024, with liner notes by Dr Rob of Ban Ban Ton Ton.
