About this release
Cerro is the project of Melbourne producer Mateo Torres Rodriguez, whose Infinite Hum EP brings dub-inflected house and Balearic drift to Proto Exotica. Shaped during a return to Colombia with a compact setup of analogue equipment, the record combines floating synths, deep bass and punchy drum patterns. The Bright Side opens at house tempo, while the surrounding originals make room for softer melodies and slower movement. Andras reworks the opener on the second side, adding a jazzy Rhodes piano passage while keeping its buoyant groove, before Indubitably closes the EP at a more relaxed pace.
