About this release
Tom Sharkett brings weighty synthesizers, broken rhythms and vocal songwriting together on 25. Painting On Glass opens with heavy synth textures and breaks, setting up an EP that moves between club music and the pull of a song. Guest vocalist mui zyu appears on the title track and Sleepwalk, with the latter folding vocoder into its looping arrangement. Sharkett takes the vocal himself on I’ll Call If I Want You. New Order’s influence runs through the record’s meeting of electronic drive and melody, while additional production and mixing from Matt Peel help shape its sound.
