About this release
Curated by Brian d'Souza, also known as Auntie Flo, Plants Can Dance explores biosonification: turning signals from plants, ecosystems and natural processes into musical material. The artists use different tools and approaches, from interpreting plant biodata to working with environmental patterns, creating pieces that move through ambient music, jazz, electronica and modern classical composition. Contributions include Jason Singh, Modern Biology with Zekarias Musele Thompson, Justin Wiggan with Arve Henriksen, and Helen Anahita Wilson. The project approaches nature as a participant in the creative process, with a printed zine offering the artists' reflections alongside the white-vinyl LP.
Format: LP, white vinyl with printed zine
