About this release
Lagos-rooted sound artist Adey Omotade brings acoustic ecology, experimental production and Yoruba ritual recordings together on Eero : Eesu. Bells, chants, talking drums and synthesizers form layered pieces shaped by shrines, riverbanks and festivals, connecting field-recorded voices with electronic textures. ‘Ni Ran’ places the voices of Ifa priests within an ambient setting, while ‘Oori Ogbe’ and ‘Ofo Nkantation’ explore patterns associated with divination, destiny and alignment. The closing title piece centres on a recited Odu Ifá, with percussion unfolding around the voice. Across the record, Omotade treats sound as both a compositional material and a way of tracing cultural memory.
