About this release
Good Lovin' pairs Al Mason's 1980 soul recording with We Still Could Be Together. The first side brings his textured vocal together with a firm bassline, funk guitar, backing harmonies and exchanges between strings and horns. The reverse slows the pace, placing a more reflective vocal within an arrangement of piano, strings and supporting voices. Originally associated with the promo 12-inch, the pairing returns here as an officially licensed, remastered 7-inch reissue. This Al & The Kidd edition has a large centre hole and keeps both recordings together, showing Mason's dancefloor and ballad approaches.
