About this release
Alex Kassian reworks Spooky’s ‘Orange Coloured Liquid’, originally taken from Duncan Forbes and Charlie May’s 1993 album Gargantuan. His two-part interpretation occupies the first side of this Test Pressing Recordings 12-inch, moving between club-focused and home-listening settings. John Beltran contributes a further treatment under his Placid Angles alias, before Spooky’s original version closes the record. Kassian recorded and engineered his versions at Opal Studio, retaining the original composition as the starting point for a new set of arrangements. The four-track release places those perspectives together, connecting Spooky’s early progressive sound with Kassian and Beltran’s approaches.
