About this release
Allysha Joy's The Making of Silk centres her voice, Fender Rhodes and songwriting around an expansive understanding of love. The Melbourne musician and 30/70 frontwoman brings string arrangements and layered vocal harmonies into the album's eleven tracks, moving from Nothing To Prove to Stay. Joy wrote and produced the music, with contributions from players including Finn Rees, Matthew Hayes and Oscar Jerome. Annalisa Fernandez and douniah appear in the voice-note interludes. Released by First Word Records, the album follows Acadie: Raw and Torn: Tonic, drawing together her work as a singer, keyboard player and producer.
