About this release
Club Salon Theatre is Androo's debut LP for Music From Memory, assembled from recordings made during 2021 and early 2022. The Swiss artist's background in Geneva's dub scene informs the studio method, with hardware mixing bringing movement to improvised passages, electronic rhythms and fragments of melody. References to modal jazz, trap and musique concrète broaden the record's vocabulary without turning it into a conventional collection of songs. Its twenty-three pieces form a sequence of short scenes, including recurring ideas and transitions. The vinyl programme preserves the preface, interludes and closing pieces alongside the longer tracks.
