About this release
ASHRR’s What’s Been Turning You On pairs System Olympia’s treatments with the band’s own ASHRR Soundsystem versions on 20/20 Vision. The Los Angeles group takes an Italo-inspired approach, building the track around a slow-moving pulse, arpeggiated synths and chunky drums. System Olympia adds her own vocal and synth arrangements, with an instrumental accompanying the remix on the first side. The flip shifts into the darker dub-focused sound of ASHRR Soundsystem, again offering both a vocal-led version and an instrumental. The four-track twelve-inch presents two approaches to the same song, giving each treatment room within the full vinyl programme.
