About this release
Axe Corner’s ‘Tortuga’ connects Italian house with breakbeat, acid and hardcore influences across four tracks. Produced by Alex Neri, Marco Baroni, Adriano Dodici and Pietro Pieretti, the EP moves from the rave-focused ‘Out-Sld’ into the acid lines and atmospheric organs of ‘In-Sld’. On the reverse, ‘Bad-Sld’ brings warmer keyboard textures, before ‘Sld-Effects’ closes with a stripped-back, driving arrangement. The contrast between the first side’s intensity and the flip’s lighter house feel gives each version a different role. Palmares Records’ remastered twelve-inch brings the complete four-track programme together.
