About this release
Echoes pairs Sydney’s D.D. Mirage with North Carolina vocalist Teddy Bryant for a song about love and lingering memories. Bryant’s singing sits within an eighties-informed production that draws on street soul, Balearic warmth and dream pop, with additional production assistance from Jono Ma. The group’s dub sensibility comes into focus on the reverse: the Introspective Dub reduces the lead vocal to scattered echoes and gives the rhythm more room. The two versions offer complementary views of the same song, moving from a full vocal performance to a spacious instrumental-led arrangement. Bradley Pinkerton supplies the sleeve artwork and sticker.
