About this release
Tonight pairs East Coast Love Affair with vocalist Theo on a seven-inch for Athens of the North. The collaboration grew from a conversation at Pikes into a couple of days experimenting in the studio back in Edinburgh. A Roland CR-78 drum-machine rhythm sets the pace, with Theo’s falsetto floating over the track’s soft electronic textures. The dub on the B-side reshapes the same recording, giving the instrumental parts more room while keeping the vocal atmosphere. Together, the two versions offer a compact glimpse of the project’s quieter, late-night sound, with the song and its dub presented on opposite sides.
