About this release
Fly Guy Rap brings an early-1980s hip-hop, funk and disco crossover recording to seven-inch vinyl on Land Of Hits. Produced by Peter Brown, the track places rap vocals over a groove built around breaks and funk instrumentation. Rap takes the first side, with Rap Pt 2 continuing the release on the reverse. This LH1700 reissue presents the material in the smaller single format, following its original twelve-inch release. It draws together the rhythmic language of disco and early rap, with the vocal delivery and backing groove sharing the focus.
