About this release
The Globeflower Masters Vol.1 draws on late-1960s and early-1970s soundtrack and library music through a collaboration between Brighton musicians Glenn Fallows and Mark Treffel. Created during summer 2020, the album brings Fallows' guitar, bass and compositional sketches together with Treffel's vintage keyboards and synthesizers. Their shared arrangements develop into eight pieces shaped by strings, melodic detail and changing instrumental textures. Influences include David Axelrod, Ennio Morricone, Serge Gainsbourg and Piero Umiliani, but the recordings form the duo's own contemporary set. Mr Bongo's vinyl edition follows the sequence from Faith In Time through to Arise.
