About this release
Hot Cargo’s What’s In It For Me brings two archive mixes from Richie Weeks’ early-eighties work to a Past Due Records 7-inch. Developed with Salsoul Records around 1982–83, the project sits within New York’s post-disco and boogie scene. Both versions were recorded at Right Track Studios and remained unreleased at the time. The Short Mix takes the A-side, with the Long Mix on the reverse, presenting two approaches to the same recording. The single forms part of Past Due’s exploration of Weeks’ archive, alongside The Love Magician Archives: Boogie & Post Disco, NYC 1980–1983 series.
