About this release
Isaac de Martin’s IKE project blends jazz and electronic production on On Higher Dreams, a debut album shaped by his time in Egypt. Recorded in 2022 at Big Snuff Studios in Berlin, it combines an analogue studio approach with contemporary synthesiser sounds. ‘Nilo’ reflects on the Nile, ‘SIDDA’ draws on Ethiopian musical traditions and ‘Risorgini’ pays tribute to Italian film composer Giuliano Sorgini. Danny Kuttner contributes to ‘Rapids’ within the nine-track programme. Released by Wah Wah 45s, the album follows themes of water, nature and movement, with warm instrumental textures and a cinematic sense of space.
