About this release
Jaubi's debut album brings North Indian classical music, hip-hop and spiritual jazz together through sessions recorded in Lahore and Oslo in 2019. Guitar, sarangi, tabla and drums form the group's core, joined by Tenderlonious on flute and soprano saxophone and Latarnik on keyboards. The musicians worked without written scores, allowing the performances to develop through improvisation. Vox Humana chamber choir opens the record on Seek Refuge, while Latarnik contributes the composition Mosty. Across seven pieces, the album follows a journey towards tranquillity, expressed through the interplay of acoustic instruments, keys and rhythm.
