About this release
Jovonn brings four original tracks to Nu Groove on Blaque Katt EP, drawing on the piano-led rhythms and raw club sound associated with his New York house productions. The Piano Fix pairs melodic piano phrases with a firm dancefloor pulse, while The Piano Fix Return develops a tougher approach to the same instrument. Let Me Tell You Somethin keeps the focus on harmony and rhythm before Drop That Traxx closes with syncopated hooks and a steady four-to-the-floor beat. Across the record, the arrangements balance expressive keyboard work with the direct feel of early house music.
