About this release
Recorded in 1969, Streetnoise brings Julie Driscoll’s voice together with Brian Auger and The Trinity across sixteen tracks spanning jazz, rock, folk and soul. Auger’s organ and piano support a programme of original compositions and reinterpretations, from “Tropic Of Capricorn” and “Ellis Island” to “Indian Rope Man”, “Light My Fire” and Miles Davis’ “All Blues”. The group also turns to songs from Hair, including “Flesh Failures (Let The Sunshine In)” and “I’ve Got Life”. Driscoll’s vocals connect the varied material, while instrumental passages give the band room to develop its jazz-rock approach. This Soul Bank Music reissue presents the full album across two LPs in a gatefold sleeve.
