About this release
Laura Misch's debut album Sample The Sky follows the natural patterns and open spaces of London's outskirts. Saxophone, singing and synthesis meet electronic production across ten leftfield pop pieces, with every sound played, synthesised or recorded from scratch. Misch wrote and co-produced the album with William Arcane, then brought in performances from her live band, including Marysia Osu on harp and Tomáš Kašpar on guitar. Released by One Little Independent, the record moves from Hide To Seek to Birdseye, with Light Years, Widening Circles and Wild Swim connecting its voice, instrumental writing and environmental focus.
