About this release
Lovebirds return to Winding Road with They Call Me, a three-track EP that moves between funk, downtempo and deep house. The title track builds around bluesy vocals, rasping horns and live bass from Declan MacDermott, with rolling keys adding to its loose, rhythmic feel. “Smooth & Fatfree” slows the pace, bringing heavy drums and a broad bassline beneath soft keys. “Bali Birds” closes the record with a more hypnotic house groove, balancing a twanging bass figure against mellow chords. Across the three pieces, warm instrumental details give each track a distinct mood while keeping the production clear and spacious.
