About this release
Vol. 7 brings four LUXXURY edits to Exxpensive Sounding Music. Is It Real, Now? works a modern Australian indie-disco song into a dub-oriented arrangement, while Rap Chore draws attention to the bassline of an early new wave and hip-hop crossover. On the reverse, Groove Prove focuses on another 1980s pop bassline before Disco 82 turns towards Indian funk. The Los Angeles producer uses the edits to isolate and extend distinctive rhythmic elements, linking the four selections through bass, repetition and dancefloor movement.
