About this release
The Lost Album gathers seven recordings made by Maurice Poto Doudongo in 1987, combining Congolese rumba influences with electronic programming, funk and R&B. Recorded during his Brussels period and preserved in the Crammed Discs archives, the material moves from the rhythmic electronic approach of Passport Train to the more fluid groove of Momo and the closing Bolingo. Restored from cassette roughs and 24-track demos with Doudongo’s approval, the project reaches vinyl through Editions de Lux. The LP includes a printed inner sleeve containing photographs and release notes.
