About this release
Melba Moore's Standing Right Here pairs two performances from her late-1970s catalogue. The title track appeared on A Portrait Of Melba in 1977, with McFadden and Whitehead's songwriting and production shaping its Philadelphia disco sound. On the other side, Make Me Believe In You brings Moore's voice to a Curtis Mayfield composition first recorded by Patti Jo. This edition uses the full album version from Dancin' With Melba, allowing its arrangement room to unfold. The pairing places the rhythmic lift of Standing Right Here alongside the extended sweep of Make Me Believe In You on a Buddah Records 12-inch.
