About this release
Italian Library Songbook Vol. 2 pairs a new vocal interpretation of Piero Umiliani's Nel Villaggio with the original instrumental. Moonbrew and Paolo Apollo Negri sample its marimba melody and add synthesisers and a new beat, with Tilde singing on the resulting As If It Matters. Umiliani's recording, drawn from his 1975 library album Continente Nero, appears on the reverse. The pairing connects a contemporary song with the musical source that shaped it, giving each a side of the seven-inch. Four Flies presents the release with artwork by designer and calligrapher Luca Barcellona.
