About this release
New Horizon's True Love brings together two parts of the Queens band's single, with Sheila Petty's lead vocal set against a soulful disco arrangement. The young group were signed to Creative Funk Enterprises, with Gary DeBerry Sr. producing a session that allowed the musicians to extend their groove into the second part. Petty developed the lyric around the feeling of a summer day, giving the song its warm, flowing character. Originally issued as a styrene single, True Love returns through Rain & Shine as an officially licensed, remastered vinyl 7-inch. Parts 1 and 2 appear on opposite sides.
