About this release
Wax Digits Music’s fifth release pairs two collaborations by Robert Ouimet and Dave Godin, issued as a tribute to Ouimet. “Plenty” builds around a raw groove, broad chord stabs and jangling guitar, with a soulful vocal giving the arrangement a reflective edge. On the reverse, “Funky Together” takes a looser approach, putting bold horns against psychedelic chords and a lively rhythm section. The contrast between the vocal-led A-side and the brass-heavy flip gives the twelve-inch two distinct moods, while their shared disco and funk foundations keep both cuts focused on the dancefloor.
