About this release
Holdin' Out and I Caught You In A Lie bring together two Robert Parker recordings from the Nola catalogue. The pairing connects a rhythm-and-blues approach with the more reflective soul singing of I Caught You In A Lie, placing Parker's voice at the centre of both arrangements. His original recording of the latter continued to reach soul listeners alongside its later cover versions. This Nola 7-inch reissue presents the two songs in remastered form, with replica artwork. The single offers a focused view of Parker's New Orleans recordings through two contrasting songs.
Format: 7" vinyl with replica artwork
