About this release
Andy Baxter’s sixth Robohands album brings live playing and analogue studio textures together across sessions recorded in Chicago and London in 2025. Baxter handles drums, keyboards and bass, with Francesca Uberti adding Rhodes piano on four tracks. Vintage amplifiers, Hammond organ and reel-to-reel recording contribute to the sound, which draws on jazz fusion and film-score arrangements. Sean Woodlock and Shawn Clendening share mixing duties, giving the set contrasting textures as it moves from ‘Achilles’ and ‘Regular Exercise’ towards the more abstract ‘Object’ and ‘New Era’ pieces. ‘Recreation’ closes the first side with an open drum solo before the second side shifts direction.
