About this release
Rocksteady Romantics bring dub and a soul cover together on Discos Martos’ second release. “Be A Rocker” features Tibstar, with a prominent horn section over a rhythm built for sound-system play. On the reverse, Tito Ramírez sings “Soy Tu Títere”, a Spanish-language interpretation of “I’m Your Puppet” recast in a rocksteady setting. The two sides offer different approaches to the band’s Jamaican influences, from the A-side’s dub production to the more song-led flip. Made within the label’s analogue production approach, this DM02 7-inch presents both recordings.
