About this release
Romain FX brings three originals and a Monkey Timers remix to Sound Of Vast on Musique De Maison. The title track combines organic percussion, long bass tones and intertwining synthesizer melodies, giving its groove a cosmic-disco feel. Tonal Spices raises the energy with acid figures, bass stabs, vocals and cinematic strings. Monkey Timers pull the title track apart on the reverse, sending fragments through delay, reverb and shifting synthesis. Psych-O-Delic closes in a live mix built from off-centre drums, processed speech and wavering melodic lines. The EP connects these different textures through a playful approach to arrangement and rhythmic detail.
