About this release
Spanish Town is Ronnie Lion's debut solo album and a tribute to the Jamaican capital of St Catherine. Known as one half of Ambient Warrior, Lion centres the record on Spanish guitar, joined by lead guitarist Sean Wilkinson. Reggae provides the rhythmic foundation, with Lion on bass and Horseman on drums, while bossa nova and flamenco influences shape the guitar lines. The nine-track sequence moves through Hombre Peligroso, Grants Pen Steppers and Peace Chalice before closing with Alligator Pond. Released by Isle Of Jura, the LP is pressed on 180g vinyl and carries sleeve artwork by Bradley Pinkerton.
