About this release
Sonlight’s ‘Get Together’ pairs a mid-1970s disco recording with the soul ballad ‘Once I Leave’. The Cleveland group began as The Elements, formed around bandleader Mark Anthony with Ulysses Barnes, Enos Scott and Ronald Sims, and also recorded as Moving Violation before adopting the Sonlight name. Originally issued on Spearhead, this two-song single returns through Athens of the North, connecting the group’s vocal soul background with the dance rhythms of the A-side. The reissue presents both recordings on 7-inch vinyl and comes in a hand-assembled sleeve made for this edition.
Format: 7-inch vinyl, reissue; hand-assembled sleeve
