About this release
GEMS pairs two versions of Spacebunny with The Mingers’ Fancy a Shag, drawing together recordings from the UK house underground. Spacebunny first appeared on Surreal Recordings in 1996, with the original later included on Danny Tenaglia’s Twisted Secrets Volume 2. This release places the Housey Doingz Remix before the original on the A-side. Fancy a Shag occupies the reverse, combining tribal percussion, a prominent bassline and expressive strings. The selection links the late-nineties sound of Surreal with the later Deeper London release, giving the three tracks a shared place within GEMS’ reissue series.
