About this release
Slush Records revisits James Zeiter’s 1997 Pleasure Records EP under his Spacer IV alias, remastered by Justin Drake. ‘Sirocco’ opens with echoing pads, acid lines and dusty breakbeats, combining a floating atmosphere with weighty sub-bass. ‘Mono’ brings a warmer house influence, pairing Detroit textures with a bassline that draws on Italian dream house. The reverse side moves towards Zeiter’s progressive club sound: ‘Jetson’ locks into a spacious, hypnotic house groove, while ‘Dust’ builds its intensity around circling acid. The four tracks capture a melodic turn in his work without losing the rhythmic focus of his earlier productions.
