About this release
Louie Vega revisits Sylvester’s 1978 recording ‘Dance (Disco Heat)’ on this Nervous Records 12-inch, combining elements of the original with his own musical and percussion contributions. Cindy Mizelle adds new vocal performances, extending the song’s connection between disco singing and club production. The A-side carries Vega’s Retouch, while the reverse pairs his Let’s Party a Lil Dub with a Short Instrumental. Together, the three versions give different balances of vocals, rhythm and instrumental detail to the same song, carrying Sylvester’s disco recording into Vega’s house-oriented approach to the dancefloor.
